Don't Forget Yourself

If you forget yourself in anger, the other person probably won't. (Richard E. Henthorn after One Day At A Time in Al-Anon, 28 August) 3/Sep/2010 8:18

There was another explosion on an oil well rig in the Gulf of Mexico. What excuses will our government leaders and the oil company big shots offer?

I'm trying to remember how I converted my genealogy reports from the Descend program into PDF files in the past. Several new tools are available that may make it possible to improve the quality of the final product. If I can devise a method that works I will be able to salvage more of the information from the PAF 2.31 genealogy files.

Purpose

A purpose is not something that you're going to find. It's something that will find you. And it will find you only when you're ready not before. (Dr. Wayne Dyer, Staying On The Path, p. 68)

The more we learn about the history of the BP oil company and about the failure of the government agencies and their leaders to regulate the oil industry the angrier we should all be. The only surprising thing is that this disaster in The Gulf didn't happen sooner. One politician, from Alaska claims, "it's a natural disaster." The thought occurred to me that he might change his viewpoint if he took a dip in that oil and some pelican feathers.

A Natural Crisis

One incident of lawlessness can cause a natural crisis. (Warren W. Wiersbe, Chapter-By-Chapter Bible Commentary, p. 153)

Yesterday former coworker Bill Hamilton and I enjoyed a very nice three-hour lunch at The Red Lobster in Lanham, Maryland. We covered lots of topics. When we said goodbye in the parking lot we agreed to get together again in June.

Today Melva plans to work for a few hours before going to the Hair Cuttery in Edgewater, Maryland for a class. She is familiar with the two roads she will be using.

Senator Arlan Specter of Pennsylvania, who didn't know whether he was a Republican or a Democrat, was defeated in the primary yesterday. I take my hat off to the citizens of Pennsylvania for sending this message to Senator Specter and the other politicians. We must hold every elected official accountable. Historically we have plenty of evidence to illustrate what happens when we don't.
