Don't Wait
Don't wait for things to happen; make them happen yourself.
Don't wait for a friend to invite you to spend an afternoon together; invite her first.
Don't wait for your husband to buy you a gift; buy him that sweater you know he'd love.
Don't wait for your community to ask you to help; volunteer.
Don't wait for someone to tell you you'd be a good writer; start a journal. ...
What we feel, think, and do this moment influences both our present and our future in ways we never know.
Begin.
Start right where you are.
Consider your possibilities and find inspiration within yourself to add more meaning and zest to your life.
Perhaps your loving actions will be passed on to a child, grandchild, or young friend.

Happy New Year 2016
Wherever you are today is perfect. You have been on a journey arriving right here, right now in this moment in time and space. You are here to make a new beginning on our spiritual journey and to experience and accept JOY in your life. You are in a perfect place for spiritual growth and change. Everything you have done in your entire life has brought you to this very moment and is perfect.
(Ruth Fishel, Time For Joy, 1 January)
People can lose their whole lives by being scared about some moment in the future. People waste years being nostalgic about some moment that's gone in the past. Don't spend your moment wishing you could occupy somebody else's moment -- because it doesn't belong to you, and it never will.

Positive Thoughts
It is exciting to know that my thoughts and my actions in the present moment condition the next moment. I am responsible for my future. Today I am bringing awareness to my self-talk and replacing all negative thoughts with positive thoughts as soon as they appear on my mindscape.

Troubles
I know that constant dwelling on my troubles lessens my ability to see them clearly and make wise decisions. I will not complicate the present by reviewing the past; nor will I dread what may happen tomorrow. One way to make detachment easier is to eliminate the past and future from my thoughts.
He who frees himself of hampering regrets for the past and worry about what lies ahead finds himself able to deal with the present.(One Day At A Time In Al-Anon, 16 November)

Thinking Of The Whole
Do not disturb yourself by thinking of the whole of your life. Let not your thoughts at once embrace all the various troubles which you may expect to befall you. But on every occasion ask yourself, "What is there in this which is intolerable and past bearing?" For you will be ashamed to confess. In the next place, remember that neither the future nor the past pains you, but only the present. But this is reduced to a very little, if you only circumscribe it, and scold yourself if you are unable to bear even this.

Your Past
Do not run the risk of making your past your future.

Today Is A Gift
Today is a gift.
Today I will let myself plan for the future and live in the moment.
I only have to live this day.
Nothing more is asked of me.

One Day At A Time
When it comes to your ability to sustain your own life, your natural, spontaneous reaction is to negotiate the situation one day; one minute or one second at a time. Past and future vanish. The present is the only basis of your survival. (Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, The Sky's The Limit, p. 50) 22 February 2013

Present Moment
... getting into the present begins with giving up the past and the future in favor of the now, for as many of your life experiences as you possibly can. (Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, The Sky's The Limit, p. 49) 4 February 2013

Turning Points
Some turning points in life may cast a dark shade on your future. When you get seriously sick, your illness is not just physical; it forces you to see yourself and your world in a different way. (Thomas Moore, Dark Nights Of The Soul, p. 25) 3 February 2013

Set Aside
You must often do what you do not want to do, and what you want to do you must sometimes set aside. (Thomas 'A Kempis, The Imitation Of Christ, Book 3, Chapter 49, p. 143) 8 August 2012

Hard Drive Conversion to USB
No person in the world ever attempted to wrong another without being injured in return - some way, somehow, sometime. (William George Jordan in The Promise Of A New Day by Casey and Vanceburg, 4 January)
When we do not learn from the past or hear God and obey Him in the present, we destroy our future. (Warren W. Wiersbe, Chapter-by-Chapter Bible Commentary, p. 513)
Many people feel caught up in the routines of daily living that seem to deprive their life of significance. (Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth, p. 257)
... bad decisions always result in bad consequences. (Billy Graham, Hope For Each Day, 25 June)
******
Yesterday I installed the hard drive from my old Dell laptop in an external drive case that I bought at a computer store. The USB cable allowed me to connect the drive to my new laptop and thus read the drive again. I'm having fun looking at all the genealogy PDFs I found on this drive. I don't remember how many of these reports I made available in the past. If you have access to my Box.net account watch to see what I make available.

Present Moment
When you make the present moment, instead of the past and future, the focal point of your life, your ability to enjoy what you do - and with it the quality of your life - increases dramatically. (Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth, p. 297) 3 August 2011

The Future
We should all be concerned about the future because we will have to spend the rest of our lives there. (Charles F. Kettering in Chapter-By-Chapter Bible Commentary, Warren W. Wiersbe, p. 493)

Worrying
You can spend the rest of your life, beginning right now, worrying about the future; and no amount of your worry will change a thing. (Dr. Wayne Dyer, Staying on the Path, p. 151)

Predicting The Future

You can't predict the future. You can only plan to the best of your ability and move forward in faith. (Toni Sortor and Pamela McQuade, The Word On Life, 26 June)
