Allegiance

Many people have been sent off to die in stupid wars because it was "the right thing to do," even though both sides end up shaking their heads when the whole thing is over.  People often believe that allegiance to a country, a team, a school, or whatever, is always right, and that having a contrary opinion is definitely wrong.
