The Library
The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.

Memories
... how precious memories are. They live in our hearts and minds, waiting to whisper back to us. Sometimes they come in difficult times, giving strength and hope. Or, they come simply to touch us with affection.

I'm working on a project to move the Bowie Seniors Computer Club (BSCC) web pages from Comcast to our new host, GreenGeeks. Comcast will discontinue website support on October 8, 2015. As part of the project I added a BSCC logo and navigation buttons to all pages except one that I don't maintain. I also learned how to make the old website redirect automatically to the new home page. I created a TinyURL: tinyurl.com/bscchome for folks who would rather not use the long URL to take them to the new homepage. I'm using HTML that I key rather than an HTML generator.

What You Prefer
What you prefer is not superior to what others prefer.

Thou Hast Forgotten
When thou are troubled about anything,
thou hast forgotten this,
that all things happen according to the universal nature; and
forgotten this,
that a man's wrongful act is nothing to thee; and
further thou has forgotten this,
that everything which happens, always happened so and will happen so, and now happens so everywhere;
forgotten this too,
how close is the kinship between a man and the whole human race, for it is a community, not of a little blood or seed, but of intelligence.
And thou hast forgotten this too,
that every man's intelligence is a god, and is an efflux of the deity; and
forgotten this,
that nothing is a man's own, but that his child and his body and his very soul came from the deity;
forgotten this,
that everything is opinion; and
lastly thou has forgotten that
every man lives the present time only, and loses only this.

Attachments
The soul is inclined toward the past rather that the future, toward attachment to people, places, and events rather than detachment, and so it is not quick to move on. In outer life, we may leave a person or a place, but in memory and dream the soul clings to those former attachments.

Personal Stories
Discovering our personal stories is a spiritual quest. Without such stories we cannot be fully human, for without them we are unable to articulate or even understand our deepest experiences.

Regret
Attempting to do something, even if it doesn't succeed, is inspiring because we don't tend to regret what we do, we regret what we didn't do.

Material Possessions
If we complain about any area of our lives that involves material possessions, it's a signal we don't have the right balance.

Reality
Dick and Melva in Annapolis, MD
Mature people think about the reality of their problems.
We all need wake up calls to get us serious about changing.
(Cloud & Townsend, God Will Make A Way, p. 259)
The contented, well-adjusted, person has no need to look for flaws in others.

Imagination
Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine, and at last you create what you will.

Gratitude
Melva with some tomatoes from our backyard.
I am very grateful to be exactly where I am today. I do not need to be a victim of my past or controlled by circumstances.

This past week I neglected blogging for several days. I also missed a day or to of daily reading. Recently I added several books to the stack of books that I read from each day. I'm looking forward to the challenge of reading for a few more minutes each morning.
I've been working on some genealogy projects that are time consuming.

Remembering September 11, 2001
If you can't do great things, do small things in a great way. Don't wait for great opportunities. Seize common, everyday ones and make them great.

Happiness
Happiness consists more in small conveniences or pleasures that occur every day [rather] than in the great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life.
