Divide unwanted items into trash or treasure when you're de-cluttering your home.
Recycle the trash; give away the treasure.
You may wish to sell expensive items in good condition, but as this could be unbudgeted income, couldn't you afford to give them away instead?
Matching each object to an appreciative recipient can be rewarding, just like any other form of voluntary work.
